Life can be complicated, quality education does not need to be.
New Charter University is the innovative solution to work/life/school balance you have been looking for. Our revolutionary approach to higher education offers one of the most flexible and remarkably affordable university experiences available.
New Charter University has divided the professorial role in two. This model is similar to Western Governors University and Patten University. Instructors are highly qualified and credentialed faculty members who teach our courses and have direct academic relationships with each of their students.
Through our consistent course structures. No more adjusting to the requirements and expectations of a new teacher in every course. We use consistent instructional design for all of our courses. That means students know what to expect in every class. Exceptional and varied content is found in every class, but the structures of the units, exercises, quizzes, vocabulary lists, assignments, projects, and exams.
NCU has intentionally opted not to participate in the US Federal Financial Aid system. Participation requires substantial costs associated with the administrative overhead to manage the extraordinarily complex system. The extra costs would necessarily be passed on to our customers which would force tuition up. We use lean edu-business practices and vigilant overhead oversight that ensure we can keep tuition low. NCU is proud to honor individuals who have sacrificed for the United States of America, so we do accept VA tuition programs.
For degree-seeking students, NCU’s policy allows students to register for up to four courses in a term. (Exceptions to the number of courses taken in the term are at the discretion of the Academic Dean.) For degree-seeking students, any course begun in the same term must be completed within that term.
Exams are created by SMEs and the Instructional Design Team. The exam questions are created to assess knowledge of the course as it relates to the program outcomes. A rubric is used to inform the student of expectations of answers and to guide the instructor to grade all students the same. NCU adheres to the tenets of most recent edition of The Standards of Educational and Psychological Testing, a product of the American Educational Research Association, the American Psychological Association (APA), and the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME). Published collaboratively by the three organizations since 1966, it represents the gold standard in guidance on testing in the United States and in many other countries.
NCU promotes self-reliance and fiscal responsibility. To that end, we have created a remarkably affordable tuition reimbursement model. It is so affordable that many people can absorb into their regular monthly budget. We accept employer tuition programs. We also offer limited scholarships.
NCU exists to meet the educational needs of students who have experienced the same life challenges as we have. Access to high quality education that reduces wasted time, resources, and effort and promotes work/life/school balance is what we are all about.
